By David H. Woods

More and more individuals are turning to alternative and natural healing healthcare options every year, and the popularity of alternative medicine is rising. These facts have sparked more colleges and universities to add degree distinctions in alternative medicine, and more colleges offer programs that are specifically geared towards natural healing. Training in this field can have students obtaining degrees in massage therapy, chiropractic care, and more.

Natural healing degrees and programs provide a wide range of educational options.

* Prospective students can gain anywhere from an associate’s degree to a doctorate. However, each field of study is different and offers different degree options.
* Some colleges will also require prerequisites to enter a program and only allow students to obtain a certain level of degree, while some will only offer higher levels of education like a master’s degree and a doctorate.

Ilchi said, the world of natural healing focuses on non-invasive cures and the ability of the body to heal itself. The goal of the practices that make up the industry is to incorporate natural and drug free treatment plans for their patients. Practitioners are taught to treat patients as a whole regarding their mind, body, and spirit and how they work together to build a strong healthy client. The options for a degree program are numerous and will fit any goal and interest an individual might have.

Let’s look at some specific options available to prospective students. Chiropractic care is one of the fastest growing alternative medicine practices. Students have a wide selection of degree paths to choose from within this field of study. A chiropractic program requires students to obtain a bachelor’s degree before entering the program. This requirement is set up to prepare students for the information and coursework involved in the chiropractic program. Chiropractors diagnose and treat ailments that are linked to the nervous system. The overall focus is correct alignment of the spine and how misalignment affects the health of an individual.

Acupuncture is another degree program that requires a bachelor’s before entering a program to gain a master’s degree or doctorate. This medical therapy is centered on the procedure of inserting needs into the body where nerves, muscles, and connective tissues can be stimulated. Education in this area is taught from a mixture of Chinese Medicine courses and Western medicine. The combination of the two allows students to be adequately prepared to work in their respected profession but also with traditional doctors.

Reflexology training is another option that allows students to earn certification in the field. The practice is a therapy focused on zones where different parts of the body, especially the feet, are massaged to relieve pain and other ailments located in organs throughout the body. The zones or channels are the paths that a person’s energy force flows through. Most zones end at the hands and feet, which is where most of the pressure is applied. Some colleges offer shorter certificate programs lasting two months while others have programs that last 20 months.

By Curt Barry

Many businesses are being asked to cut cost and save money within their current operations. And in today’s world market it is even more important than ever to find way to improve the company’s bottom line, many are being asked to reduce costs or better yet, increase productivity and efficiency and lower cost at the same time. Here are 11 cost saving ideas to consider.

INVENTORY

Backorders
One of the top customer inquiries and complaints is “Where is my backorder?” The backorder not only costs customer service the time to answer the inquiry, it also costs to ship the product once it arrives in the distribution center. With the cost of a backorder ranging from $7 to $12 per backordered unit of merchandise, it doesn’t take long for them to add up and those costs come right off the bottom line. Analyze backorders and improve the accuracy of inventory forecasting. The ROI occurs for a more advanced forecasting system in 12 to 18 months based on reduction in backorders and improved turnover. Customer order fill rate should be reviewed and improved without being out of stock or overstocked. Example of backorder costs: A typical catalog with a 20% backorder rate averaging two items per order processed 200,000 orders for a total of 400,000 units of merchandise. Calculated at 20%, 40,000 customer orders had backorders. Estimating backorder cost on the low end at $7.37 per order, the catalog will have to absorb $294,800 to make up for backorders.

CONTACT CENTER

Product training and Company Policy
Product training is becoming a complex undertaking as merchants are constantly searching for new product. With multi-title, multi-channel and a large breadth of SKU’s available, keeping agents informed of the latest product information is a challenge. Contact centers that provide regular product training through an established formal training program benefit when the customer places an order. Agents who are not well trained on the product will have to ask for assistance which can lengthen the call time. Large centers have a full time trainer. Public information shows that Cabela’s, the world’s largest outfitter, has 235,000 SKU’s online. Along with product training and product information, communicating important messages to agents is a must. Providing pop-up windows to agents at login time provides an effective communication tool to relay information on problem products and important company meetings. Using online features for customer company policies provides easy and fast access for agents.

Agent Scheduling
Scheduling agents in the customer contact center can be a very complex task. Contact centers do a good job setting a schedule based on projected call volumes and filling the schedule with available agents, but what happens afterwards? This is where a gap occurs between the schedule and what actually happened. Take time to review the original schedule against the actual volume of calls and agents that worked. This simple task will provide insight into effectiveness of the schedule. The ROI on scheduling software shows that those that have it see their costs lowered.

Call Monitoring
Monitoring agents and providing feedback on a regular basis is essential to maintaining optimum performance in the contact center. It also provides an opportunity for supervisors to hear what the customer is saying and how the agent interacts with the customer. The use of monitoring is helpful in determining agents strengths, weaknesses and overall efficiency. Monitoring feedback by the supervisor can be used for performance review to increase productivity. Monthly call monitoring by management and merchants is a great way to stay in tune with the customer.

Universal Agents
Universal agents, those that can answer order calls, respond to emails and handle customer service functions are an asset to your organization. These agents are capable of switching tasks as the workload requires maximizing their productivity. Utilizing universal agents, particularly at off-peak times, reduces the need for dedicated agents. A mix of universal and dedicated agents within the contact center provides a balanced workforce that reduces costs and increases efficiency. The use of universal agents makes it tough to track actual work performed and costs associated with each task for benchmarking purposes.

DISTRIBUTION

Slotting
An ongoing program of determining the correct picking slot locations is a must. Consideration should be given to product velocity (sales) and size (cube) in placing it in the pick line. Having as a goal the storage of at least one weeks average unit movement in the pick slot along with providing a variety of slot sizes should be a key focus.

Picking
As per Customer Review Center, there are many picking methodologies to choose from, batch picking, zone picking, pick and pass, pick to cart and pick to box just to name a few. By analyzing the type of product and the type of orders (single vs multi), the most efficient pick path processing can be created reducing travel time. Separating fast movers from slow movers and establishing a “Hot Pick” area for extremely fast movers should be considered. Picking rates range 115 to as high as 180 units per hour.

Packing
If you are not doing pick to box does your system have the capability to determine the box size for the packer? Is the pack station clean, neat and ergonomically setup? Is the appropriate dunnage inserted into each box? Where is the pack verify performed? These are just a few of the questions to look at when analyzing the pack area. Remember, presentation to the customer is as important as getting the shipment out of the door quickly. Packing rates average 35 to 40 per hour.

Inbound Freight
Inbound freight is one of the most overlooked areas for significant cost reduction in many companies. Multichannel companies often spend from 2% to 4% of gross sales on inbound freight. Most successful companies who have paid attention to inbound freight view inbound freight management as controlling inventory in transit. Since inventory is, in many cases, your largest asset, the management of this asset is critical to your business success. There is a growing trend to use freight collect rather than prepaid freight. Inbound freight should be bid out competitively often. Tracking inbound freight receipts and scheduling frees up the dockyard and provides the opportunity to schedule receiving personnel when needed.

Outbound Freight
One of the largest expense items that is always a primary target for cost reduction is outbound freight. With shipping carrier increases in the range of 3% to 5% annually, this is the first area to get questioned, “What can we do to reduce our shipping charges?” In a typical catalogue company, outbound freight ranges 8% to 12% of net sales. Competitively bid out outbound freight often to ensure the best pricing. Combining inbound and outbound freight with one carrier may produce savings. Many multi-channel companies use shipping and handling charges to offset the cost of outbound freight and package handling. Some have grown dangerously close to 20% of net sales.

Benchmarking – KPI’s
Benchmark, benchmark, benchmark. The best indication of how your operations is performing is through benchmarking. By developing a set of consistent and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), you can measure your costs, productivity and efficiency. Once you’ve completed and analyzed your existing operation, you will want to compare yourself to accepted industry benchmarks. You want to avoid using general industry averages as those won’t be specific to your business in product type, size and customers. Many companies are utilizing management reporting online for critical KPI’s for contact center and fulfillment. You can’t improve activities which have not been measured.

Price comparison websites are a popular and effective way to find the best cheap and best value for money deals around for a wide variety of products and services. You can use them to get a good deal on a new mobile phone too, but it is worth taking a few things into account first to make sure that you are getting the most from them. Here is my guide to using these sites:

1) General price comparison shopping websites often have mobile phones as part of what they offer, and they can be OK if you are just looking to buy a handset on a pay as you go or sim free deal, and if you already know what handset you want. But if you want to be able to see all of the handset on the market, and if you want to compare contract deals, it is well worth going to a niche site that only offers price comparison for mobile phones, as they will be much more likely to give you a comprehensive round up of all the deals in the country, and also are more likely to get special offers that you won’t find elsewhere.

2) Unless you are totally focussed on paying the smallest amount of money it is well worth taking a look at the free gift deals. For most handsets there are a wide variety of free gifts from various retailers, and they are often the best value for money deals for what you get compared to the purely cheap deals.

3) If you are looking for a new contract phone then make sure you add up the minutes and texts that you use each month (even if only very roughly) before hand. It is almost always cheaper to pay a bit more on a fixed monthly cost and then get all of your actual usage for free, than to pay for your calls and texts separately each month.

Use these tips and you will be sure to get a great bargain. Happy shopping!

With spring just around the corner, it’s time to pack away our winter staples and take out outfits suitable for upcoming hot days. Once again, being comfortable and practical are the key issues. While we may enjoy sporting sneakers with jeans in the bright and colorful spring weather, we don’t need to restrict ourselves to just one style. Depending on which shoes we are teaming up with our favorite jeans, we can achieve various looks and styles.

Casual Shoes to Wear with Jeans

Below are some of the different casual shoes to go with the jeans for men and women:

Teaming up Men’s Casual Shoes with Jeans:

Below are three different styles in men’s casual shoes:

Tennis shoes or sneakers: While one can always play safe with the classic white color, fashion-forward men may also jazz up their look with retro or European-styled sneakers like Adidas X Vespa or Nike Air Jordan Retro III Flip.

Loafers: They can lend an extremely stylish yet laid back look to the wearer; ideal for having informal dinner in an upscale restaurant. Pair it up with crisp jeans, a long sleeve-shirt, patterned socks and finally a tipped belt for a smart and casual look.

Oxford shoes: In spite of being casual, denim jeans are an extremely versatile item of clothing. For a street-smart look, you may team up your white oxford shoes with straight-leg dark denim jeans and a smart leather jacket.

Teaming up Women’s Casual Shoes with Jeans:

Three of the different casual shoes to go with jeans are:

Flat shoes: Converse ballet flats have a timeless, classic appeal. You can combine the flat shoes with skinny jeans, a loose tank top and a cardigan in complimentary color.

Emu shoes: Though not exactly for the spring, it can bring a contemporary and stylish touch to the wearer. The best way to show off is to tuck the jeans inside the Emu shoes and throw on a stylish lightweight jacket.

Mudd shoes: Mudd flats are ideal for working women, especially those which come with round toes. If you don’t like flats, how about pairing up your denim jeans with pretty Marcie dress shoes by Mudd for a professional look? Mudd shoes are also perfect for taking a stroll in the park or visiting the local mall, if you so desire.
By R Serewicz

The best ways to finding a job.

So you went to work and got that pick slip place on your cubical like everyone else in the shop. Don’t go out and buy a news paper and or go online to find your new job. The secret to finding a new job and might be the fastest way. First let us look to the method that is the most over looked place to look your fiends and family are the best secret to your next job landing. I run a job board for artist and the companies that place ads on my site you may never see an ad from them in any news paper or on a online job posting anywhere else well that is because I get these jobs from the word of mouth from my friends and family.

I have found talking to job seekers that this is the number one place that they never thought of. Hey remember your parents they might know people that are looking for people for that new sale position. Your family might be you biggest helpers and your parent will fear you moving back home. Placing the bug in every relatives ear that you are looking and you will be rewarded. Never over look a new change in career for a while you never know you might like the change and never go back to that cubical you left behind. Good Friends and family always seem help when times are at the worst. Keep searching and remember that Uncle Joe that owns that auto shop, you might be his new shop Manager. In Pakistan you can search latest job through Newspaper Job Ads Pakistan.

You know about mid life crisis? Both men and women in the throes of a midlife crisis unexpectedly come to a crossroads in their lives in which all assumptions about their lives, their careers and their marriages are overturned seemingly overnight. Such partners are living in a confused state of mind. But it’s no laughing matter if you’re the spouse watching your partner go through these types of changes. You may have been gripped by a sense of uncertainty and anxiety as you see your mate grappling with serious issues that affect you and the family.

There are plenty of people who react badly to getting older. Suddenly full grown men who have settled down and have pleasant lives are becoming discontented cliches. Midlife crisis cheating is the ultimate in midlife stereotypes, right up there with the fancy sports cars and the sudden career change.

The mid life crisis – are you undergoing or experiencing it right now? Although this term is already commonly used here and everywhere, one way or another not all experience this and it’s dissimilar for males and females. There will most probably come a time when several adults mull over some of the changes or adjustments in their lives (and most especially in their bodies) which would take a huge part in their future. As time goes by, the human body begins its physical deterioration and depreciation and we get sick every now and then if we don’t care about our health especially as we age.

Marcie Shimoff interviewed 100 people she considered to be happy. Writing in Happy for no reason, she came up with the notion of a happiness continuum. On one end of the continuum, you can be unhappy experiencing such emotions as fatigue or melancholy or thinking that you be in the throes of a “midlife crisis.” On the other end of the continuum, you can be happy for no reason. She describes this as a state of peace and well-being that does not depend on external circumstances.

One of my favorite song is The Way You Make Me Feel”. It was the third #1 hit from the album Bad. Reportedly, Michael Jackson recorded the song in response to a request from his mother Katherine to record a song with a shuffling rhythm. Michael Jackson performed the song live at the 1988 Grammy Awards.
The Lyrics of “The Way You Make Me Feel’ is here.

“The Way You Make Me Feel”

Hee-Hee!
Ooh!
Go On Girl!
Aaow!

Hey Pretty Baby With The
High Heels On
You Give Me Fever
Like I’ve Never, Ever Known
You’re Just A Product Of
Loveliness
I Like The Groove Of
Your Walk,
Your Talk, Your Dress
I Feel Your Fever
From Miles Around
I’ll Pick You Up In My Car
And We’ll Paint The Town
Just Kiss Me Baby
And Tell Me Twice
That You’re The One For Me

The Way You Make Me Feel
(The Way You Make Me Feel)
You Really Turn Me On
(You Really Turn Me On)
You Knock Me Off Of My Feet
(You Knock Me Off Of
My Feet)
My Lonely Days Are Gone
(My Lonely Days Are Gone)

I Like The Feelin’ You’re
Givin’ Me
Just Hold Me Baby And I’m
In Ecstasy
Oh I’ll Be Workin’ From Nine
To Five
To Buy You Things To Keep
You By My Side
I Never Felt So In Love Before
Just Promise Baby, You’ll
Love Me Forevermore
I Swear I’m Keepin’ You
Satisfied
‘Cause You’re The One For Me
The Way You Make Me Feel
(The Way You Make Me Feel)
You Really Turn Me On
(You Really Turn Me On)
You Knock Me Off Of My Feet
Now Baby-Hee!
(You Knock Me Off Of
My Feet)
My Lonely Days Are Gone-
A-Acha-Acha
(My Lonely Days Are Gone)

Go On Girl!
Go On! Hee! Hee! Aaow!
Go On Girl!

I Never Felt So In Love Before
Promise Baby, You’ll Love Me
Forevermore
I Swear I’m Keepin’ You
Satisfied
‘Cause You’re The One For
Me . . .

The Way You Make Me Feel
(The Way You Make Me Feel)
You Really Turn Me On
Now Baby-Hee!
